solutions. Report to CFO. This is a hands-on position, no direct reports. I designed and built out the entire computing environment which consists of Win2k desktops and servers, Sun Solaris 2.8 Desktops and servers. Exchange2000 and Sendmail. IIS web servers, Cisco PIX Firewall and Altiga VPN. As our main filer I selected the Promise TX8 with 8x100GB IDE disk drives in a RAID 5 configuration. Employing Vertias File System as our snapshot mechanism. The TX8’s SCSI out is connected to a Sun Ultra 60 running PCNetlink. This allows for unified network file systems between PCs and Unix. Cost of comparable SCSI systems is roughly $70,000.00 for hardware alone. Total cost of this system was $5,100.00 hardware and $3,000.00 for software. BROADCOM
